Repeat offender: NSW Police try again for COPS replacement

NSW Police are finally moving forward with replacement of their 28-year-old mainframe-based Computerised Operational Policing System (COPS), after a tumultuous decade featuring multiple ministers, Commissioners, and suppliers.

A recently published contract reveals that both the Integrated Policing Operational System (IPOS) project and the Integrated Connected Officer (ICO) programs have been subject to a Gateway Review, an assurance process to ensure that the Business Case is viable, by the Department of Customer Service (DCS).
