Home Affairs minister Clare O’Neil has appointed former top mandarin Martin Parkinson to lead a three-person panel to conduct strategic review of the immigration system, alongside academic Dr Joanna Howe and former Deloitte partner John Azarias.
The trio have been tasked to review “the processes and systems that support the administration” of the current visa framework and provide an interim report by 28 February – to make recommendations for the 2023-24 Budget, which is traditionally delivered on the second Tuesday in May (9 May 2023).
