Large Computing System | A large computing system is a powerful computer system with extensive processing capabilities and large amounts of memory, typically used by large organisations and government institutions to perform critical business and scientific applications. These systems are known for their reliability, availability, and scalability, and are designed to handle high-volume transaction processing, data storage, and complex calculations. |
Learning Management System | A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application used to create, manage, and deliver educational courses and training programs. It is designed to streamline and centralise the learning process, making it easier for teachers, trainers, and administrators to manage and monitor learners' progress. LMS typically includes features such as course creation and management tools, content authoring tools, communication and collaboration tools, and assessment and grading tools. |

Licence and Renewal | The process of obtaining and renewing legal permission to use a software product. Life Journey Mapping | A technique used to understand and design end-to-end service experiences from the perspective of the user. In a government services context, life journey mapping involves analysing the various stages of a citisen's life and the touchpoints they have with government services, with the aim of identifying pain points, gaps, and opportunities to improve the delivery of government services. The process involves capturing the user's journey in a visual representation and using this to inform service design, delivery, and continuous improvement. |
Life journey mapping | An approach to reforming government services that views them from the perspective of the end user at a given point in time ("life event"). A life journey mapping approach will identify the steps citizens need to take during key life events - such as the birth of a child, starting a business, or the death of a loved one - and simplify the process for them by bundling these steps into a single, straightforward action. |
